What can be insured?
- Cargo that belongs to legal entities and shipped by any carrier, both in the CIS countries and worldwide
- Other expenses associated with the transportation of cargo
- Expected commercial profit and commission
Covered risks
Cargo insurance is provided according to international conditions to cover customer’s losses resulting from the damage to or loss of the cargo while in shipment, by any means of transport, based on one of the following conditions:
All-risk cover
The insurance event is a damage to or a total loss of all or part of the cargo as a result of any external cause. This is the broadest coverage.
Limited cover (specific perils)
The insurance event is a damage to or a total loss of all or part of the cargo as a result of any of the following risks:
- Fire, lightning, storm, swirl (other hazards stipulated by the Insurance Contract), accident or collision of vessels, aircraft and other carriers with one another, or their impact on fixed or floating objects, landing of a vessel aground, bridges collapse, explosion, damage to a vessel with ice, dampening with outboard water, measures taken to rescue or fire suppression
- Disappearance of a carrier
- Accidents during loading, packing, unloading of the cargo and while fueling a carrier
Theft is not covered by the limited cover.
Total loss cover
The insurance event is a total loss of all or part of the cargo as a result of any of the following risks:
- Fire, lightning, storm, swirl (other hazards stipulated by the Insurance contract), accident or collision of vessels, aircraft and other carriers with one another, or their impact on fixed or floating objects, landing of a vessel aground, bridges collapse, explosion, damage to a vessel with ice, dampening with outboard water, measures taken to rescue or fire suppression
- Disappearance of a carrier
- Accidents during loading, packing, unloading of the cargo and while fueling a carrier
Partial loss and theft are not covered by the total loss cover.
Special risks cover
The insured event is a damage to or a total loss of all or part of the cargo as a result of a selection of the following risks:
- Lightning, storm, swirl, earthquake, volcanic eruption and other natural disasters stipulated by the insurance contract
- Dampening with precipitation
- Disappearance of cargo along with a carrier
- Burglary, theft, robbery and other illegal acts of third parties
- Emergency landing of an air carrier
- Collision or fall of air carriers, aircraft as well as objects falling from them
- Damage to perishable cargo as a result of breakdown of refrigerator machines
- Other events related to peculiar features of the cargo and the process of its shipment specified in the Insurance contract
